Employees of Bromak, the training and recruitment specialist, trekked more than 35 miles to raise funds for the Bolton Lads and Girls Club.In all, the 11 Bromak employees and two representatives from the club, raised more than £3,600 for the organisation which delivers a wide variety of programmes to nearly 3,000 young people each week ranging from recreational opportunities, performing arts and a diverse range of sporting activities.
Bromak, which is a near-neighbour of the Lads and Girls Club in Bolton’s Spa Road, decided to take on the challenging 35-mile Trans-Pennine Walk from Manchester to Sheffield covering some difficult paths and terrain.
Dave Brooks, Bromak managing director, said: “I was proud of the team for reaching our goal and it is satisfying to know that the money raised will be well invested in helping young people in the area for now and the future.”
Bolton Lads and Girls Club also provides intensive support, guidance and training for some of the town’s most at-risk youngsters using mentoring in one-to-one and group sessions.
Bromak, which works with major UK contractors, developers, local authorities and housing associations, is the only recruitment consultancy in its sector accredited to deliver Construction Skills training.
