We are looking to recruit a Buying Desk Administrator / Accounts Clerk for a Social Housing/Construction Contractor based in Basingstoke. Our Client is a National Contractor looking for a reliable Accounts Administrator for their project in Basingstoke.

With a centralised Labour/Buying Desk the successful candidate will provide an order placement and invoice approval service for the hire of temporary blue collar trades/labour and temporary professional white collar workers and ensure that the best value is achieved from the purchases made.

Key Accountabilities include:

Ensure all Purchase Orders are completed to an agreed format and timescale (i.e. quantity, description, price, site delivery and time frame)
Production of timely and accurate management information
Ensure that preferred labour agencies are utilised for all available spend
Ensure that preferred supplier agreements are utilised for all available spend
Take ownership of the tasks they complete to contribute to increased efficiencies in the Labour/Buying Desk Processes.
Resolve any queries in relation to orders placed appropriately and efficiently with suppliers and site surveyors
Ensure a customer focused approach is provided at all times
Work in a way that ensures disputes or complaints raised with the Labour/Buying Desk are avoided or minimised
General administration duties that support the successful operation of the Labour/Buying Desk

Skills and Capabilities:

Ability to meet deadlines without the need for prompting
Good communication skills and excellent telephone manner
Interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships
Proficient in MS Office suite
Ability to work autonomously and as part of team
A desire to make a positive change to financial performance

Experience:

Experience of creating and placing purchase orders on platforms
Experience of working within a team environment
Experience of purchase ledger and invoice approval
Experience of working in a customer focused role
