Bromak are representing a national house builder who seeks to appoint an experienced Architectural Manager to join their team based in Tyne & Wear. The company develop new build properties ranging from 2 bed starter homes to 4 bed family homes.
Reporting to the Technical Director the main purpose of the role is to control and coordinate all technical information between external consultants and internal departments and to ensure all approvals are obtained and information received issued to allow for a programmed start on site.
To work with the Land Department to ensure smooth transition of all architectural information takes place.
To check all architectural drawings and details for accuracy, correctness and commercial suitability.
To liaise with external consultants to ensure deadlines are met.
To apply for and secure planning permission for all architectural design and relevant regulation approval.
To attend site visits and meetings in order to solve any problems that arise during the construction process.
To attend design meetings with planning departments to ascertain requirements from a council perspective for new developments.
Ensure that new regulation requirements are anticipated and incorporated as required.
Procure sketch layouts and architectural design solutions.
Provide provisional assessment of architectural design requirements.
Review technical information and provide value architectural design
Assist the Technical Director to obtain fee quotations from specialist consultants for all architectural design requirements.
Provide architectural and technical support to the site teams.
Assist the Commercial team in cost plan completion with regard to architectural matters.
Take full responsibility of the day to day running of the architectural and planning section within the Yorkshire Technical Department.
Work with the Central Design Team to develop architectural products and research build systems to ensure we are ready for legislation and market change.
Create a team spirit with our partner consultants to ensure the Company receives total commitment.
Develop a close working relationship with the Regional team, ensuring all information is communicated effectively and efficiently.
Develop others working within the architectural section and provide support and coaching where required.
Knowledge & Experience required
Experience of managing developments and external consultant
First rate communication and influencing skills
Good at developing relationships
Flexible - able to work at all levels and at hands on level
Proven written communication skills
Computer literate in MS Office
Previous experience of building relationships with clients/customers
Proven track record of delivering S38, S278 & S104 designs & approvals
Good understanding of the Planning and Building Control processes
