My client is a regional housebuilder; Specialising in 2 bed starter homes to 6 bed luxury homes with a requirement for an Assistant Development Engineer.
As am Assistant Development Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Manager who will outline each project to you.
Duties will include appraisals of land opportunities for development including; ground conditions, drainage solutions and site constraints to aid in the preparation of constraints plans, feasibility designs and Technical Reports to assist with the purchase of new land.
Co-ordination of remediation strategies and other engineering works that may affect the cost, value and/or timescales involved in the purchase of land for residential development.
Liaison with statutory bodies, authorities and service utility providers where necessary.
Technical support giving advice and handover of successful projects to the Technical Engineers.
Review designs for implementation into a deliverable project design which meets British Standards, Building Regulation, planning, highways and drainage design standards.
Manage resources to ensure agreed deadlines are met with regards to several projects simultaneously.
Co-ordinate external consultants and agree budgets and timescales for all project engineering matters.
Learning, audit and review to continuously improve project specific engineering design.
Reporting engineering matters to the Engineering Manager including pre-dev progress, live site status including matters affecting Building Regulation and Warranty and planning.
Ensure co-ordination and compatibility of engineering designs with internal departments, architectural design, services, Adoption agreements and other external design influences.
Review designs against feasibility and appraisal budgets and work with the commercial team to value engineer design where possible.
Review designs against health and safety, construction and supply chain requirements and work with the construction team to deliver a buildable design where possible.
You must have a full driving licence, as travel will be required to sites occasionally.
The salary on offer is up to £35k plus package.
