Assistant Engineer - House building Staffordshire £20,000 - £28,000, Car Allowance or company car, benefits This leading house builder are one of the country's largest, building homes throughout the UK. They build several thousand homes per year, ranging from one bedroom apartments to luxury homes up to 6 bedrooms. They now have an opportunity for a graduate, or part time student studying towards a relevant construction or civil engineer qualification to join as an Assistant Engineer assisting with new sites and assist with procuring services, surveys and technical reports. Role of Assistant Engineer " Interpretation and instruction geo-technical reports. " Assist with securing any technical reports required to inform land viability. " To procure and assist with design input for initial road and sewer layouts. " Interpret topographical surveys and summarise levels. " Procure budget service enquiries for supply and diversions. " Co-ordinate and manage consultants to resolve any issues. " Manage the delivery of supporting information, such as finished floor levels, site sections and tracking. " Ensure all engineering drawings including foundation recommendations are available. " Obtain cost effective solutions for mains service delivery " Check designs to make sure they are the most commercially viable. " Produce health and safety CDM packs to support tender process. " Manage technical submissions to highway/water authorities. " Secure technical approvals which may involve external consultants. " Assist with arranging the completion of legal agreements for highway, drainage and services procurement. " Issue and manage drawings/information internally and externally. " Assist production team with resolution of any site issues. " Collate and submit engineering drawings to discharge NHBC conditions. " Assist with road and sewer/public open space adoption. " Undertake site visits when required. " Undertake any other duties as requested by the Technical Director, Engineering Manager and Senior Engineer
The Candidate To be considered for this position you will need to have the following: " Relevant qualification (HNC or above) in a construction or civil engineering discipline - either obtained or currently studying on part time basis " An awareness of road and sewer design would be advantageous " Able to use AutoCAD " WinDES and PDS experience would be desired - training is available for this " Full driving licence " Well organised " Basic structural understanding For further information please contact Mark Harrison at Bromak Recruitment.
