The Client In your new job as an Assistant Estimator you will be working for a Chelmsford based Landscaping, Fencing & Groundworks contractor. Established over 30 years ago, they have a wealth of experience in their ranks and a reputation that creates repeat business as well new business through quality of work. Project wise, they cover the South East of England and undertake projects in the Housing, Rail and Commercial sectors, plus various others.
The Job As an Assistant Estimator you will be required to be based in their Chelmsford office on a full-time basis, there may be occasions when site visits will be necessary. On a day to day basis you will be tasked with producing estimates for the various projects that you are given to work on, communicating with the commercial team to ensure accuracy with your work and timely preparation of BoQs and processing and coordinating quotes and budgets. Other daily tasks include documenting estimates, on-screen take offs and supporting the estimating team with their jobs.
Responsibilities: - Assist with all tender activity including pricing, preparation and submission. - Provide detailed breakdowns of tenders - Obtain best value sub-contract and supplier prices - Procurement of sub-contract works including documentation and compliance - Attend regular tender review meetings - Effective communication with clients, suppliers, external consultants and colleagues through to senior management. - Preparing high quality bids
Qualifications / Experience - Construction related Degree / equivalent, ideally Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management. - Previous experience working for a main contractor is preferred, ideally 1-3 years. - UK Full Driving License
