Award winning property maintenance specialist with more than 1,000 staff in 30 Locations across the UK are looking to appoint a permanent Trainee/Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
They are a leading specialist in both planned and responsive maintenance and deliver a range of services and bespoke solutions to client needs.
Due to expansion, they are currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven Trainee or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work from their Stoke office, ST1.
Summary - Quantity Surveyor
Owing to the company securing new projects they are currently looking to recruit a Trainee or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The role of the Trainee/Assistant Quantity Surveyor is to assist in obtaining and evaluating information to help ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials and services for a number of designated projects / contracts in operation around Stoke-on-Trent.
Liaising with the Contracts management team, Contractors, Suppliers and Clients to ensure information; costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of a designated project / contract.
The role requires you to act as a professional member of staff providing a vital link between site and head office.
Key Responsibilities - Quantity Surveyor
Compile take offs for various work packages
Assist in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids and tenders
Assist in the development of the procurement programme
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of cash flow forecast for designated projects
Assist in the preparation of monthly valuation reports
Submit invoices for certified value and ensure payments are received on time
Liaise with Contract Managers to establish the project specification and requirements
Liaise with Contractors, Suppliers and the Client to establish project specification and requirements
Attend and contribute to meetings with work colleagues and or Clients/Customers when necessary
Monitor the contract progress, assess and report any changes that may affect project costs and or time scale
Assist in the control of individual contract budgets
Ensure all necessary contract documentation / reports are accurate and produced on time
To qualify for this role you will hold or be working towards a relevant qualification (HNC/HND Construction/Building Studies or Quantity Surveying Degree) and or have a minimum of 1 years' experience in a quantity surveying role.
You should have a willingness and enthusiasm to learn and develop skills to becoming a fully experienced Quantity Surveyor, with a good knowledge of maths.
Salary & Package Details
In return, you will be offered a basic salary up to £18,000 - £25,000 (dependent on experience) along with additional company benefits and further training and development. How to apply?
