My client are a regional contractor specialising in Social Housing and Shared Ownership developments in the Merseyside region. The company have a family run feel to the business and are proud of delivering schemes to their clients on time and within budget resulting in repeat business.
Owing to the start of a new development in Birkenhead they are looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Site Manager to support the Site Manager with a development consisting of approx. 40 units, a mix of timber frame houses and traditionally built apartment blocks.
Working closely with the Site Manager you will be working on a housing development assisting with the running of a safe site. Duties will include:
" Responsible for ensuring all personnel comply with health and safety " Induct new starters and ensure they have a good understanding of procedures, site rules and method statements " Ensure site security " Ensure accidents are recorded " Take control in the absence of the Site Manager " Manage and liaise with subcontractors " Liaise with NHBC & Local Authority Inspectors " Inspect all stages of construction " Ensure materials are stored securely to minimise loss and wastage " Complete daily diary and weekly reports (plant returns, materials received, timesheets, etc)
Skills and Experience Required
To qualify for this role you must have previous experience working in similar position as an Assistant Site Manager, Finishing Foreman or Site Supervisor on housing developments. You will ideally come from a trade background (joinery or bricklaying preferable) and will hold either SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid and a CSCS card.
