Assistant Site Manager
A leading UK house builder on a rapid growth plan are looking for an Assistant Site Manager to work on a temporary basis on a development based in Manchester.
This will be a temporary position, starting Monday and running for 4 weeks.
As an Assistant Site Manager you will be assisting the Site Manager in the daily management of a busy new build housing development ensuring properties are built to a high standard within budget and programme. Duties will include:
Working with the Site Manager in taking ownership of agreed build programmes at pre-start meetings
Assist with ensuring that Health & Safety procedures are strictly adhered to
Conform to building regulations and warranty providers' requirements (NHBC, LABC)
Assist with ensuring cost effective production in line with development budgets by ensuring that the work undertaken is in full accordance with the cost provision allocated
Assist with organisation of site meetings and pre-plan and ensure efficient usage of all resources
Ensure production/progress returns are updated and sent to the Contracts Manager
Assist with ensuring site security and good practice is maintained at all times
Assist with ensuring sensible level of stock control in accordance with build requirements including proper checking and recording of deliveries
Assist with ensuring the quality meets with Company and warranty expectations
Ensure sub-contractors work within the required specification and adhere to Company Policies
Ensure that procedures and controls are fully implemented by all site personnel
Ensure plots are finished to high standard by taking ownership of plots until completion
Take responsibility for the supervision of cranes
Carry out home tours and demonstrations
Ensure air testing is carried out and units passed
Accompany build inspector whilst CML is carried out
Carry out monthly meter readings
Deal with handovers to clients/purchasers/customers
This is an on-going temporary position and the rate on offer will be negotiable dependent on the level of experience.
Skills & Experience Required
To be considered for the role, you must have previous supervisory or management experience working for a volume house builder, experience within timber frame would be advantageous and also having come from a trade background would be desirable. You must be experienced in working to NHBC standards. You must have up to date relevant knowledge of building legislation along with the relevant qualifications and training including CSCS Card, SMSTS or SSSTS and First Aid.
