My client are a busy house builder who have a requirement for a House Building Inspector to join their North West region to cover sites in Lancashire and Greater Manchester areas.
The company are an established builder who operate across the UK specialising in new build properties ranging from homes for first time buyers to family homes. The company are looking to enhance their Construction team by appointing an additional Building Inspector to cover sites across the region.
Working closely with the Construction Director you will be responsible for carrying out inspections to new build properties prior to handover. The purpose of the role will be to raise the standards of new homes and enhance the customer journey in purchasing a new home.
" Inspecting properties after final fix stage " Producing snagging lists for the site team " Revisiting properties for final inspection prior to handover " Working effectively with the site team to ensure new homes meet NHBC and LABC Standards, Building regulations and associated legislation " Performing key stage inspections Pre-Handover " Working with site personal to develop good customer relations and promote the value and benefits of working in partnership with NHBC and LABC
Skills and Experience required
This role would suit someone who has previously worked as a Site based Manager or someone from a trade background.
" Demonstrate experience onsite during the residential house building process and understand the key build stages and how trades interact. " Knowledge of house building construction will ideally be backed up by a construction related qualification such as NVQ, HNC, HND, City & Guilds or equivalent, however training can be offered to NVQ level 6 in Site Inspection " A focus on quality and keen interest in learning, keeping up to date with industry standards, improvements and developments are key attributes " Demonstrate a consultative approach with the ability build rapport, establish credibility and build effective relationships " Good written communication skills, able to produce accurate reports and maintain the site record book with good IT literacy and the ability to learn new software packages.
