The company you will be working for is a shop fit-out and interiors contractor who have been very successful with a number of high profile flagship stores for over 40 years. In this Buyer position you will be based at their Hemel Hempstead office full time, their projects span a national client base, whillst having a global office presence in over 25 countries.
As a Buyer you will be reporting to the Finance Manager and working Monday - Friday full-time hours. It will require someone to be methodical, dedicated and pragmatic in order to handle the daily routine along with project co-ordination.
Raise purchase orders and confirm with suppliers' receipt of order and delivery date.
Negotiate prices, terms and conditions to obtain the best quality supply and commercial agreement with suppliers.
Manage supplier day to day liaison and report areas of concern or excellence.
Attain sufficient product knowledge to enable meaningful discussions to be held with other departments and suppliers.
Raise orders for sub contract trades with administration dept.
Proactively communicate changes to contracts managers in a timely manner.
Raise orders for hire equipment and monitor and record off hire.
Raise orders for waste removal / skips
Arrange courier services for ex works goods or materials
An Administration or relevant NVQ is desirable along with a purchasing qualification. Experience within the Construction industry is highly desirable.
