My client is a National Main Contractor. As a result of their continued growth they are looking to recruit a Permanent M&E Buyer to join their offices based in North West London.

The M&E Buyer will be reporting to the Supply Chain Manager and will be responsible for:

Procurement of plant and materials and placing orders ensuring delivery to site
Assist management of procurement team including supervision, support and guidance of Assistant Buyers and Procurement Support staff
Attend and participate in Regional Ops Meetings / Tender Meetings and Site Meetings as required
Drive specifications towards most commercially advantageous solutions
Assist in development and implementation of cost / value reconciliations of purchase orders (Buying Reports)
Provide support to the Accounts team to ensure prompt resolution of invoice queries,Contribute to the development of improved purchasing processes and procedures
Participate and contribute to regular group purchasing meetings and forums to communicate developments, share good practice and up skill our people
Build excellent supplier relations
Be an ambassador for the Central Procurement Team and participate in establishing the group as the industry leader in Supply Chain Management.

Skills and Experience required
My client is ideally looking for an experienced M&E Buyer with experience with a minimum of 4-5 years experience with an M & E Contractor.
Additional skills required include:
Construction qualification ONC / HNC / CIPS (preferable but not essential)
Ability to supervise and manage others, Excellent organization & planning skills. Must be able to work on own initiative and drive procurement, Knowledge of best practice supply chain management tools
Knowledge of products & categories
Strong industry and sector knowledge
Excellent negotiation skills
Team orientated / promotes teamwork, Ability to build strong relations internally and externally
Disciplined in meeting deadlines
Computer literate MS Office including Excel

You will be rewarded with a basic salary between £40-50k depending on experience plus company car or car allowance.
