Our Client is based in the Central Essex area. They cover both the public and private sectors within the construction industry. These include housing associations, hospitals and also commercial fit-outs, new builds and refurbishments. Due to the large growth in the company they are currently seeking a Buyer to join their company. Salary would be around £25k to £30k plus benefits.
As Buyer, you'll be responsible for material procurement across a range of exciting projects across Essex and into London. You'll be responsible for identifying, negotiating with and placing orders with suppliers and the subsequent scheduling of materials to site. Our client are happy to consider trainees and assistants looking to step up.
- Identify and build relationships with merchants and suppliers across the area - Negotiate best value deals for materials - Schedule material deliveries to sites as required - Identify means to improve the supply chain process internally and develop efficiency - Effective communication with clients, suppliers, external consultants and colleagues through to senior management. - Play an integral, lead role in system and function setup for procurement across the business - Operate as focal point for all material procurement across the business
Qualifications & Experience:
- Construction related qualifications are desirable, ideally Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management. - Previous buying experience within general commercial contracting is preferred.
