Clerk of Works Birmingham £250 Per Day 12 Month Contract
The Client My Client is one of the UK's leading providers of planned and responsive maintenance services within the social housing sector. Due to managing an increased number of contracts, they are looking to recruit an experienced Clerk of Works for their Birmingham region.
The Role Working on high rise/tower block projects and reporting directly to the Client, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality and safety of all works on site, ensuring that plans and specifications are adhered to and monitoring and reporting progress back to the Client.
Duties Inspecting works on site and ensuring they match drawings and specifications Measuring and quality checking building materials Identifying defects and suggesting ways to correct them Monitoring progress and reporting back to the Client Keeping detailed records of works and creating monthly repair valuation reports Referring to plans, taking photographs and samples Liaising with contractors, engineers and surveyors Checking that building regulations, H & S, legal and ecological requirements are met Working between an office and construction sites.
Qualifications & Experience Must have a working knowledge of tower block/high rise projects Must have previous experience of working as a Clerk of Works on a Social Housing project Must be thorough and pay attention to detail Must have the ability to use own initiative Must have Engineering/Technical knowledge Must have the ability to analyse quality and performance Must be computer literate
