Currently recruiting for a Compliance Officer for a Housing Association based in the York area. The main duty of the role will involve ensuring the Association is fully compliant with all legal and statutory undertakings and regulations. We are looking for someone who can
Ensuring that the organisation, its customers and the general public are safe from the works and services undertaken and delivered
Responsible for administration of Health and Safety Compliance registers and action plans.
Lead compliance with regard to Asbestos, Legionella, Lifts, Working at Height, Fire and Electrical Safety.
Ensuring that all contractors, suppliers, engineers / operatives and partners are competent in their undertakings for and on behalf of the organisation through robust and auditable processes and procedures
Implementing and managing a range of compliance service contracts including quality assurance
Managing the performance and delivery of a range of services / programmes within allocated budgets
Reviewing daily certification across appropriate work streams whilst ensuring accuracy, quality, completeness and compliance
Providing technical and general advice to all stakeholders, both internally and externally and representing the team at working groups and meetings
Developing current and new systems to ensure compliance is truly focused on being pro-active and not reactive
Undertaking site visits to premises across the organisation's geographical areas to resolve issues with contractors or others affecting performance
Dealing with and resolving customer, stakeholder and external agencies issues, queries and complaints
Supporting the Compliance Manager in the development and implementation of strategies and policies, ensuring that effective performance, financial and monitoring systems are in place and adhered to and in the procurement of contracts with suppliers/ contractors
Undertaking and assisting with property surveys as requested
The company pay very competitively, with a basic salary of up to £30k dependent on experience plus package.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of HNC in a related construction subject or equivalent experience
A current and in date Gas Safe registration
An excellent knowledge of housing related health and safety compliance
An excellent knowledge of Health & Safety in general
A high level of knowledge in relation to housing association compliance services, regulation and best practice in the housing industry
An understanding and experience of the use of compliance-based IT systems
A working knowledge of contract management and standard forms of contract
A track record in delivering & maintaining compliance-based services to a high standard
A track record of developing & managing budgets in line with agreed targets
The ability to analyse information & produce clear reports
