Information: £24 - 30 per hour (Experience and Equipment Dependant)
Bromak are currently recruiting for a well-proven and capable Senior Site Engineer to work on a high-value commercial project for one of the leading contractors in the region. The client is a well-respected and busy main contractor who are actively looking for a reliable, knowledgeable and versatile Engineer to aid / monitor project progression and complete basic setting-out work. Suitable candidates will ideally be experienced in construction groundworks and enabling works as well as structural and technical site work on high-rise new builds.
Site Manager - The Role:
This is a site-based role on any one of the client's key sites in the North West depending on locality, and key duties may include:
Working closely with the management, technical and design teams.
Carrying out the schedule of works in line with budgetary and time constraints.
Reporting to the Senior Site / Project Manager and liaising with the client when appropriate.
Working in line with all NHBC regulations, building standards and codes of practice.
Working on the entire scheme from inception through to completion and all associated packages from the initial groundworks and enabling works to handover.
Skills and Experience:
In addition to having experience in this sector and ideally a good track record on projects of over £10M, understanding company ethics and procedures will be important in order to complete all works to the proper quality and safety standards expected. The role may also require coordination with the architectural teams so working off drawings and amending initial designs may become a component of the role in facilitating and supervising technical alterations. Working closely with the site management team, the selected candidate will also be expected to take some responsibility for security and general welfare of others on site. Once the site is marked and the setting-out is finished, the Site Engineer will work closely with the various sub-contractors and manage entire packages in alignment with the programme.
A degree background is preferential as is experience in some form of site management and owning associated equipment but being able to use various kit if provided, including a Total Robotic Station and GPS is necessary. Suitable candidates will also have excellent communication skills at all levels, be able to work in a dynamic environment under pressure and a good practical awareness and understanding of general construction in all aspects in order to responsibly solve an array of technical issues on site, providing advice and practical solutions.
