My client are one of the largest private House Builders in the UK who have a requirement for an experienced Contracts Manager to join their North West team.

The role - Contracts Manager
As a Contracts Manager you will be reporting to the Construction Director and will be responsible for a team of Site Managers and Assistant Site Managers and direct Labour including Labourers and Telehandlers across approx. 6 developments across the North West region.
Duties and responsibilities include:
" Build, develop and motivate the site construction team " Monitor trainees/apprentices development " Assist in staff appraisals " Manage staff performance in line with company policies " Ensure site set up is safe, timely and effective " Participate in pre-start meetings and produce work programmes " Liaise with consultant engineers to ensure all information is available to progress works " Ensure consultant engineers provide all inspections and certification to comply with planning/building regulation requirements " Manage and liaise with all specialised sub-contractors to ensure works are carried out on time and to acceptable standards " Be responsible for Site Health and Safety " Ensure completion dates are met and that developments are adequately resourced " Ensure accurate processing of information between Regional Office and Site " Monitor response time to customer Final Inspection lists and complaints " Ensure all sites are working to achieve the NHBC 'Pride in the Job' award " Monitor labour performance and costs and costs of Suppliers and Sub-contractors " Adopt 'Right First Time' principle " Control hired plant and the amount of material on site " Ensure developments are presented to the best possible standard during construction and that all materials are stacked and protected " Ensure show houses and Sales Area are in pristine condition
Skills & Experience required
The successful candidate must have previous experience working for a volume house builder. You must have a steady work history and ideally come from a trade background, having achieved NHBC awards would be highly advantageous.
" Ability to demonstrate a customer first approach to delivering new homes built to a high specification. " Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative whilst along with motivating your team " Working closely with the Sales team to ensure effective communication to resolve any issues. " Experience of NHBC standards and have the ability to suggest improvements to control costs " Demonstrate your ability and attention to detail in presenting developments as the very best place for our potential customers to want to live. " Excellent H&S standards and will lead by example to show your commitment to providing the very best safe environments for all who have access to our active developments.
