As a privately run, leading principle contractor in the insurance repairs, property maintenance and reactive works sector, our client has developed an excellent reputation for their quality of work across London operating from their based in Clapham, with an emphasis on total client satisfaction.
They seek to appoint a Contracts Manager, ideally from a reactive property maintenance / insurance works background. Seeking a candidate full of enthusiasm and pride in their work, you'll be responsible for the coordination of teams of operatives across an exciting portfolio of work on residential and commercial properties of all shapes and sizes.
Responsibilities will include:
- Organisation of contractors to align with build schedules, to achieve the timely completion of works. - Oversight of cost control on your allocated projects, ensuring that forecasts are correct and budgets are adhered to. - Client interation, managing communication chain to external consultants and senior management and subsequent quality control. - Issuing of drawings and documentation to relevant sub-contracts and external consultants. - Material procurement and the subsequent scheduling to site to ensure contractors have everything required at the correct times.
The successful candidate will:
- Ideally have an excellent understanding of the building industry, coming from either a trade or managerial background within construction. Academic qualifications are desirable but not essential. - Have operated in a similar role previously, ideally with a general property building, insurance repairs or maintenance background. - Be organised, able to oversee multiple projects at any one given time without taking their eye off the ball. - Have a thorough understanding of the construction industry, incorporating general building process and materials.
