Purpose of Post and Objectives
This Position will report to the Design and Technical Manager and will be responsible to manage the design and co-ordination of all technical information between external consultants and internal departments to ensure that all necessary approvals are obtained and information is issued to allow a programmed start on site, to ensure the efficient execution of the works through the construction phase and to assist in the collation of the information required at contract completion.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
The Design Co-ordinator will support the co-ordination of both Architectural and Engineering designs and have significant experience in the following areas:
Previous Architectural experience within a new build housing environment.
Management of external Architectural and Engineering consultants to ensure deadlines are met.
Attend design meetings with the highways and planners to ascertain requirements for new developments.
Preparation of Planning Applications to set deadlines.
Ensure that new regulation requirements are anticipated and incorporated as required.
Check all Architectural drawings and details for accuracy, correctness and commercial suitability.
Apply for and secure statutory body approval of Architectural Design.
Attend site visits and meetings in order to solve issues that arise during the constructions process.
Up to date relevant knowledge of Building Regulations and Health and Safety legislation.
Excellent organisational skills.
Effectively manage time in order to meet deadlines
Knowledge of Engineering, Drainage & Structural Design within housing would be beneficial.
Knowledge of CAD would be beneficial but not essential.
Identify key design and technical considerations and operational solutions within specification and Employers Requirements to assist Quantity Surveyors and Estimators.
Facilitate comparisons in quotations for all design related activities.
Co-ordinate the preparation of Section Agreements, monitor and chase Technical Approvals through to completion.
Co-ordinate all scheme related documentation to enable an accurate build to specification.
Preparation of Contractors Proposals based on Employers Requirements and in line with current Building Regulations.
Co-ordinate the issue of both architectural and engineering drawings to ensure the site management and commercial teams have the relevant and accurate information in line with company protocol and quality standards.
Co-ordinate the discharge of NHBC / LABC engineering conditions and upload information onto the NHBC portal as necessary.
Developing key relationships with external and internal personal.
