My client specialise in the design and installation of Swimming Pools UK wide who have a requirement for a Design Engineer to join their growing business based in Stockport.
The company provide innovative products and professional technical services for the swimming pool industries. Their services include the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and refurbishment and maintenance of swimming pools/water features. Sectors they cover include the public sector and local authorities, private health and fitness chains, hospitals, schools, hotels and water authorities.
Reporting to the MD you will be working in a team of 3 Design Engineers and will be responsible for the production of drawings, Revit models, calculations, documents, sketches and details for swimming pool technology systems including:
" Water treatment and filtration system " Leisure water and air features, rides and attractions " Moveable floor and boom systems " Disabled access systems
The Design Engineer will be responsible for 2-3 projects running simultaneously, working to meet design release dates in line with client requirements. You will take full responsibility for the design of the project through to completion (as fitted construction issue status).
" Produce 2D Autocad drawings - schematics, pipework layouts, general arrangements, builderswork details, plantroom layouts, sections, typical details and manufacturing details. " Produce design documents - calculation sheets, schedules, tables, technical data and support information for design projects. " Produce 3D Revit models - fully details pool technology models either for 3D co-ordination and clash detection purposes, or for full BIM level 2 compliance (depending on client requirements). " Produce Inventor models - where required, components may need to be modelled in detail within Inventor, for migration into a building Revit model. " Liaise with design teams - all communication with the construction design teams, including principal contractor, architect, structural engineer, M&E designer and ride/attraction manufacturers. Will include attendance at design co-ordination meetings around the UK.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have a strong background in the design engineering environment and have a good understanding of the construction design process, in particular BIM level 2 compliance.
You will have advanced skill level in Autocad, Revit (2016/2017) and where possible Autodesk Inventor.
Knowledge of swimming engineering systems will be highly advantageous and candidates with candidates with mechanical engineering or building services qualifications would be carefully considered, as these skills and knowledge are transferrable.
In return for your skills my client offer a salary of £30-35k + pension, mileage expenses, overtime, profit sharing scheme and 20 days holidays (increases by 1 day per year to a maximum of 30 days) plus bank holidays.
