A dynamic award winning developer based in Manchester have an exciting opportunity for a Development Manager to join their team. This is a new role created to provide crucial support and assistance within their fast-paced Construction and Delivery team.
The company have been operating for approx. 11 years delivering Residential schemes across the North West from City Centre developments to the suburbs.
Development Manager - Duties and responsibilities
" Work with senior management, design teams and Consultants to ensure each stage of the RIBA plan of works is " Collaborate with project design team and contractor(s) to ensure efficient building methods are adopted and value for money achieved " Negotiation with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and agree product specifications, to ensure best value for money is achieved " Work with senior management and associated Consultants to collate main contract (generally JCT D&B) documentation such as clause amendments, employers' requirements and all associated numbered documents " Liaise with appointed employers' agents to agree monthly valuations and ensure contracts are administered correctly " Oversee collateral warranty administration and ensure all Funder deadlines are stringently adhered to " Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities where required " Work with the senior management to plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases/hold points to ensure deadlines are achieved " Procure sub-contractors and other staff/consultants as and when necessary to deliver projects in a timely manner " Undertake regular site inspections to oversee the delivery of projects and ensure high levels of quality are achieved, whilst highlighting any inadequacies that may come to light " Undertake QS responsibilities such as contractor procurement, payment, valuations, cost reporting on projects that are deemed suitable for self-delivery " Assist with the production and usage of Cash Flows and estimated final cost (EFC) reports to diligently monitor deviation from agreed project budgets.

" Hold or working towards a BSc Hons Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction related degree " Commercial awareness " Strong communication (verbal/written) " Teamworking/Collaboration " Ability to motivate people " Prioritising and planning " Ability to act under pressure " Able to work towards and adhering to strict deadlines " Good working knowledge of MS Office " Ability to navigate and understand PDF / DWG Drawing files.
