Our client is a Tier 1 UK Top 50 Main Contractor, working on a diverse range of general building projects scaling general works through to £50m major projects. They're a respected name throughout the national construction industry and are at the forefront of many iconic projects in East Anglia. Due to the large growth in the company, they are currently seeking a Document Controller to join their team based in Cambridge.
- Ensure that the Control of Project documentation is carried out in line with the Company Quality Procedures and Design Guides with regard to logging, copy and distribution, storage (electronic or hard copy), document transmittals, revision control and drawing / document register - Liaise with Project Manager and various subcontractors to ensure that document control requirements are met - Ad hoc duties as directed to assist the project team - Assist the Project teams as and when required such as producing written documents and reports on document status - Register all incoming and outgoing project documents, ensuring all documents and drawings are provided with transmittals - Maintain an electronic record in the project folder of all documents received and issued - Extract all relevant documents to be transmitted from the controlled file and compile, in presentation files, full design packages of work including drawings produced on CAD and other required documentation, ensuring that all design packages are presented in a complete, authorised as Design Guides, common and high quality manner. - Act as the focal point for the receipt of all documentation as required for projects and distribute accordingly - Control the archiving of all required project documentation, both electronic and hard copies.
Skills & Experience required:
- Reliable and professional - Organisation and attention to detail - Excellent communication skills - Ability to follow process - Experience working in construction as a Document Controller - Knowledge of Microsoft - Knowledge of a document management system
