We are looking to recruit an Electrical Quantity Surveyor for a Social Housing Contract based in Peckham, South East London. Our Client is a National Social Housing Contractor who are looking to recruit a reliable and experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor for their projects based in South East London.
You will be predominately based from The Clients offices in Peckham, however, you will commute between the Peckham office and their offices in Lewisham and will report directly to the Commercial Manager. You will be working on a Responsive Repairs project, responsible for the financial control from inception to completion and may possibly be responsible for multiple projects concurrently within the Electrical sector. The role will mainly be office based, however, there will typically be 3-4 days a month spent making site visits. Duties to include but not limited to:
Maintain a record of current rates and liaise with the Company Estimator to ensure all records are current. Attend specification meetings to confirm site specific specification requirements from Sales and the latest applicable Electrical Regulations. Attend pre-start meetings Agree site programmes and site resource requirements. Ensure availability of the Health and Safety Plan. Compile tender packages for all sub-contract Electrical trades and despatch. Receive tenders and qualify. Compile analysis sheet for Electrical Trades Coordinate the activities of the Company Estimator to achieve sign-off. Place and issue sub-contract orders in accordance with Group Policy to budget within programme requirements. Attend and minute all sub-contract order adjudication meetings. Liaise with relevant departments on sub-contractors' performance and compliance with order conditions.
Post Commencement Activities
Ensure you keep up to date with legislation changes and attend training and technical training as and when required by the Company. Attend departmental meetings as required. Deal with queries from site managers/supervisors. Maintain open lines of communication with colleagues in other regions. Ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed of key departmental developments.
Health and Safety
Ensure you have read the Company's health and safety policies and procedures and observe them at all times. Report accidents or near misses immediately to your Manager and record them in the accident book. Wear appropriate protective clothing on site at all times. Attend all health and safety training as required by the Company.
Candidates must ideally have an HND/HNC in Surveying with at least 1 years' experience of working with a Social Housing Contractor at QS level preferably as an Electrical QS.
The role is to start with immediate effect and is a temporary to permanent position. The hourly rate whist temporary will be £25ph which will revert to an annual salary of £38k once permanent with the Client.
