Engineering Manager - Housing Warrington (WA3) £50,000 - £60,000, company car / allowance, bonus and benefits A busy house builder seeks to appoint an Engineering Manager for their North West region, to help coordinate external consultants and provide due diligence on land acquisition sites and planning. The company started as a small family run business and have expanded gradually over the years creating an enviable reputation, built on quality, customer service and delivering high standards. They are now one of the top 10 house builders building new properties ranging from 1 bed apartments to luxury family homes across the UK. Key duties of the Engineering Manager Design o To work with Land Department to ensure smooth transition of engineering information takes place. o To check all engineering drawings and details for accuracy, correctness and commercial suitability. o To liaise with external consultants to ensure deadlines are met. o To apply for and secure statutory body approval of Engineering Design and Ground Remediation. o To attend site visits and meetings, as required, in order to resolve any problems that arise during the construction process. o To attend design meetings with highways and drainage departments to ascertain requirements from a council perspective for new developments. o Ensure that new regulation requirements are anticipated and incorporated as required.
Land Appraisal o Procure site investigation information and engineering solutions. o Provide provisional assessment of abnormal design requirements. o Review technical information and provide value engineering solutions.
Section Agreement & Adoption Management o Complete, approve and formalise the details of all adoption agreements. o Monitor progress of the adoption of roads, sewers and public open space areas. o Pursue the reduction and release of outstanding Bonds at the earliest opportunity. o Pursue adoption completions at the earliest opportunity.
Engineering / Technical Design o Assist the Technical Director to obtain fee quotations from specialist consultants for all geotechnical, engineering design and technical report requirements. o Provide engineering and technical support to the site teams. o Assist the Commercial team in cost plan completion regarding engineering matters. o Take full responsibility of the day to day running of the engineering section within the Yorkshire Technical Department.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience " Suitable construction / civil engineering qualification - HNC or above " Experience predominately within house building " Senior Engineer looking for a step up will be considered " Flexible & adaptable " Strong IT skills " Full driving licence
