Engineering Manager - House building Merseyside £50,000 - £60,000, bonus, company car or allowance and additional benefits An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Engineer who is looking for a step up into a management position, or for an experienced Engineering Manager who is looking to work for a top 10 house builder. This company are a busy house builder who seek to appoint an Engineering Manager to join their team based in Liverpool. The company develop new build properties ranging from 2 bed starter homes to 4 bed family homes. Key duties of the Engineering Manager Design o To work with Land Department to ensure smooth transition of engineering information takes place. o To check all engineering drawings and details for accuracy, correctness and commercial suitability. o To liaise with external consultants to ensure deadlines are met. o To apply for and secure statutory body approval of Engineering Design and Ground Remediation. o To attend site visits and meetings, as required, in order to resolve any problems that arise during the construction process. o To attend design meetings with highways and drainage departments to ascertain requirements from a council perspective for new developments. o Ensure that new regulation requirements are anticipated and incorporated as required.
Land Appraisal o Procure site investigation information and engineering solutions. o Provide provisional assessment of abnormal design requirements. o Review technical information and provide value engineering solutions.
Section Agreement & Adoption Management o Complete, approve and formalise the details of all adoption agreements. o Monitor progress of the adoption of roads, sewers and public open space areas. o Pursue the reduction and release of outstanding Bonds at the earliest opportunity. o Pursue adoption completions at the earliest opportunity.
Engineering / Technical Design o Assist the Technical Director to obtain fee quotations from specialist consultants for all geotechnical, engineering design and technical report requirements. o Provide engineering and technical support to the site teams. o Assist the Commercial team in cost plan completion with regard to engineering matters. o Take full responsibility of the day to day running of the engineering section within the Yorkshire Technical Department.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience " Suitable construction / civil engineering qualification - HNC or above " Experience predominately within house building " Senior Engineer looking for a step up will be considered " Flexible & adaptable " Strong IT skills " Full driving licence
