With a 30 year trading history servicing a huge range of local authorities, housing associations and their own diverse property portfolio, this business have built up an enviable reputation for their delivery of social housing refurbishment across the East, with a number of key frameworks in place spanning works across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk, offering planned and reactive maintenance and voids refurbishment services.
The Role:
Looking to strengthen their commercial capabilities, an exciting vacancy for a Managing Quantity Surveyor has arisen. Leading a team of Surveyors across their network of offices in Cambs, Suffolk and Norfolk, you'd be responsible overall for commercial delivery across all of the business' frameworks, ensuring that budgets are adhered to, profits are maximised and the business runs with a cost efficient ethos while continuing to deliver an exceptional service. With a network of offices across the East, the location of this post can be flexible, with the successful candidate able to be based from any of their current offices.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a team of Quantity Surveyors across a range of social housing refurbishment contracts, providing commercial leadership, contractual guidance and industry expertise
- Hands-on cost management of a range of exciting frameworks on behalf of local authorities, housing associations and in-house for privately owned properties.
- Forecast, monitor and maintain cash flow to ensure it is maximised effectively and projects run to budget.
- Attend and host key meetings internally and externally, maintaining professional standards and promoting the company's standards and values at all times.
- Report writing and subsequent presentation to senior management, demonstrating project progress financially.
- Be aware of, and take the lead on, contractual interests and ensure that delivery teams are at all times advised and aware of key requirements
- Effective communication with clients, suppliers, external consultants and colleagues through to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or an equivalent Construction-related qualification
- Minimum 7 years previous experience within social housing refurbishment, either contractor side or in-house for a local authority / housing association
- Previous managerial experience within a commercial / surveying function
