Managing Quantity Surveyor
My client is a reputable national new build housing company who currently are recruiting for an experienced Senior/Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their successful team in Middlesborough.
Based out of their Middlesborough office, you will be working closely with the Commercial Manager and the Commercial Director, and will be responsible for the achievement of commercial targets across your allocated contracts. You will also be responsible for ensuring your project teams are on target and on task.
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor you will also assist in the development and implantation across the business and recognize all potential problems on your contracts and implement corrective actions.
Other duties will include;
Assisting the project teams.
Site visits to a selection of projects establishing commercial status.
Working closely with the Pre-Construction Team to aid an accurate tendering process.
Identifying potential risks in the pre and post contract stages and ensuring that the correct actions and solutions are implanted.
Assist with the Business Development Team by inputting into bids to successfully win work.
Skills & Experience required
For this role, you must be commercially astute, methodical and have the desire and drive to deliver results. You must also have an outstanding technical knowledge of the industry and the operations of a successful contractor as well as having the ability to deal with major and complex issues easily.
To be suitable for this role, you must have previously worked in a senior position for a main contractor, have 10-15 years experience and have had experience in the commercial and the ne wbuild housing sectors. It is also essential that you are qualified to HNC or degree level and have very strong commercial skills to maximize value recovery, cost control and cash management. It is also vital that you are contractually aware, with an excellent knowledge and understanding of sub-contract orders and buying.
