Salary: Up to £70000 per annum + competitive benefits package
My client are a leading Contractor in the UK, who operate across three key divisions (Fitout, M&E Services and Maintenance). Although each division is an independent business, all three work together to give their clients a complete service. The company work on a number of National Frameworks in the Retail, Banking & Leisure sector as well as undertaking Design & Build Construction projects in a variety of sectors.
As a result of recent and sustained expansion, they are currently looking to recruit an experienced & motivated Managing Surveyor to join their team, with a mixture of Fit Out & New Build Construction experience. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is seeking to progress to a senior position within an established organisation with a great reputation.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
You will manage the end to end process on a number of key accounts for the business as well as some one off, special projects for the business. Experience working on JCT and NC3 forms of contract is essential.
Other duties will include:
Manage cash flow reporting
Provide financial guidance
Recover income and control expenditure
Manage cost and value reporting
Manage profit forecasting
Produce Best Value reports
Manage contract procurement
Control external consultants
Provide recommendations and guidance on main contract and subcontract issue
Dissect contract terms and conditions to minimise risk
Set and agree commercial strategy
Manage and maintain strong client relationships and understanding client's needs.
Develop excellent working relationships with all external parties
Building teams, developing people's capabilities to produce results beyond expectations
Leading a commercial function within a business through a period of rapid growth
Production of accurate information for Contribution Forecasts, Monthly Cost/Value reports and on-site progress
Preparation of accurate contract valuations
Overseeing of the production of competitive tenders, including all risk management
Reviewing and managing efficiencies
You will come from a strong academic background. This role is based in the company's Cheshire offices, however there will be an element of national travel as part of the role including to attend key meetings. You will be confident and resilient and have the ability to motivate a busy commercial team.
In return for your skills, you will be offered a basic salary of £60-70k (depending on experience) + attractive package.
