Dynamic contractor requires a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Estimator to join their growing team.
Working within the commercial team on projects across the North West within Commercial, Educational, Industrial and Residential sectors.
Salary on offer of £30,000 - £35,000 plus company package.
My client is an energy infrastructure specialist based in the North West and operating across the UK.
They have an in-house design and delivery team which enables the company to provide their clients will full turn-key solutions.
The company work with several private developers, construction companies, local authorities and energy companies just to name a few.
Based in their North West head office you will be working on projects up to the value of £5M.
The key purpose of this role is to oversee all estimating matters and provide support to the preconstruction and bid teams, ensuring cost effective solutions to meet the company's objectives.
Your duties in this role will include (but not be limited to):-
Responding to tender related queries and preparing tender packages/quotations with values ranging from £100k to £5m+ depending on client requirements
Knowledge of both electrical and mechanical estimating (electrical bias is preferred)
Managing work flow and maintaining accurate record of tenders submitted
Undertaking estimates in accordance with Company procedures
Identifying opportunities and risks during the tender process
Liaising with the bid, preconstruction and delivery teams to agree strategy, key dates and site visits
Producing detailed assumptions and qualifications for tenders
Producing fully detailed contractors' proposals to be submitted alongside the commercial proposal
Leading tender adjudications at bid approval stage
Preparing handover packs for the operations team
Determining the price of time, labour and materials for tender submissions
Negotiating cost settlements for projects
Preparing accurate sub-contractor packages for pricing/liaising with our supply chain
Clarifying any design requirements with clients and/or their agents
Building and maintaining a strong working relationship with clients.
Skills & Experience Required
Experience of working as part of a Project Team
A good communicator
Experience within a commercial setting or bid team
Experience in a previous mechanical and electrical estimating role
Experience of estimating medium/large size mechanical, electrical, energy, utility and infrastructure projects within the private and public sector
Experience of estimating both design and build and traditional build contracts
Ability to draft detailed proposals
Relevant qualifications in a mechanical and electrical related discipline
Relevant CSCS Card
Computerised estimating systems and IT skills as appropriate - ability in the use of Microsoft Excel
In return for your skills there is a basic salary on offer of £30,000 - £35,000 together with bonus scheme, expenses and pension scheme.
