Our client within the Construction Services Industry are looking to recruit a talented Project Controls and Planning Manage, to work within their Leeds division. The successful candidate will be a suitably qualified and experienced candidate, that will be able to lead the companies project controls and planning function.
Managing the project controls and planning team to ensure outputs align with client requirements and expectations
Providing assurance on our clients' capital programmes
Management, collation and analysis of infrastructure construction P6 programmes (NEC based)
Developing, managing and maintaining project schedules and associated breakdown structures
Effective programme planning and progress monitoring, including the development and application of planning best practice
Ensuring consistency in schedule definition and development
Production of performance reports which proactively identify key areas of risk to delivery outputs
Analysis of critical path and constraints to determine the effect of changes to schedule and recommend alternative solutions
The company look to pay a salary between £50,000-60,000 (DOE), with an excellent benefits package, including car allowance, city centre parking, paid overtime, payment of professional fees, extensive cross disciplinary training, and pension scheme. The successful applicant will receive 25 days holiday entitlement and receive the benefit of flexible working hours.
Qualifications & Experience
Client focused and understand the importance of delivering on time and within budget
Have a minimum or 5 years' experience working in planning and/or project controls
Have experience in leading project controls and planning commissions
Be able to reduce uncertainty, understand objectives and improve efficiency.
Have a degree in project management or a construction related discipline
Be APM qualified (intermediate and above)
Have extensive knowledge of, and be fully proficient with Primavera (P6) software
Have demonstrable project management, project controls and planning techniques
As a senior member of the team the Project Controls and Planning Manager will ideally possess skills and experience in:
Leading, motivating and inspiring individuals
Extensive experience of working with the latest forms of construction contracts, particularly NEC
Developing programme schedules in conjunction with project managers and project teams.
Interacting with project teams to define the scope of work required to develop and update detailed schedules, cost information and identification of variances from original plan.
Adhering to NEC contract processes for managing schedule data and submissions.
Producing status reports to keep management informed on programme progress.
Conducting analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
Perform other duties as assigned.
