Known for their exceptional standard of craftsmanship, our client are a respected, sought after Principle Contractor based in Cambridge, specialising in high end domestic projects, from new builds through to loft conversions, refurbishments and extensions. Due to expansion, they seek a Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor to take the lead on exciting portfolio, with a direct link into the Directors.
Achieve projects targets and carry out programming and monitoring to ensure that deadlines are met.
Read and understand specifications, drawings, preliminaries, preambles and contract documentation.
Produce competitive cost estimates to tender for and secure new business from initial enquiry.
Requisition and management of materials/delivery, liaising with the Buyer.
Cost control through forecasting a reports to ensure that projects run to budget, keeping an eye on variations and building them in efficiently.
Issue subcontractors with regular short term programmes to ensure planned progress is achieved.
Hold and attend progress meeting facing both senior management, clients and architects.
Liaise with the design team, clients, subcontractors and suppliers to and maintain good working relationships.
Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety aspects.
Obtain risk assessments and method statements from contractors prior to work commencement.
Meeting various building standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree qualified or equivalent in a Construction related discipline is desirable.
SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid qualifications are also desirable.
You will come from a previous general building background, ideally with some experience managing high end bespoke domestic projects.
