A regional social housing contractor has a new opportunity for an experienced Quantity surveyor to join their team due to an increase of works across Manchester, Liverpool & North Wales.
Their portfolio of work spans across internal, external and environmental upgrades to tenanted and void properties. They work closely with a number of local authorities and housing associations.
The company are currently going from strength to strength and are currently seeking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work on Social Housing refurbishment schemes.
Working closely with the Contracts Manager you will be responsible for ensuring contracts are delivered to maximum profitability and efficiency from site set up stages through to final accounts.
Duties and responsibilities:-
Preparation of bills and/or schedules for quantities of materials, labour and services required in the construction and refurbishment of building works in relation to both Estimating and Post contract duties.
Preparation and valuation of progress and submission to client
Sub-contract procurement including sending out enquiries, collating prices, negotiation, order placement
Sub-contract valuations and payments in connection with any contract.
Preparation of internal cost reporting measures.
Advice when required on cost management, or value management.
Maintaining quality control procedures.
Health & Safety management.
Undertaking all tasks in a timely fashion and as required by management.
Ensure cash flow is maximised
The successful applicant will ideally be degree qualified (or equivalent) and have a stable career progression within quantity surveying.
You MUST have previous experience working on social housing refurbishment contracts.
You must be able to demonstrate a high level of financial and technical knowledge within the sector and have a sound understanding of contractual and legal processes rewired with partnering frameworks.
Successful candidates must also have extensive supply chain networks to help the company deliver a wide range of secured contracts.
In return the client is looking to pay a basic salary up to £45K plus package including car allowance or company car, pension, etc.
