Medium sized contractor looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
Working on a variety of projects of refurbishments, new builds and fit outs - including education buildings, healthcare, heritage buildings, and commercial projects.
£38K-£45K plus package including car allowance.
Our client is a medium size contractor specialising in the public and private sector, focusing on education, healthcare and heritage projects across the Greater Manchester and Cheshire areas.
They are currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to work on a permanent basis, on a variety of upcoming projects. You will be responsible for 2-3 projects at one time (depending on value), which could be up to the value of approximately £4m.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Quantity Surveyor, your duties will include:-
o Preparation of bills and/or schedules for quantities of materials, labour and services required in the construction and refurbishment of building works in relation to both Estimating and Post contract duties. o Preparation and valuation of progress and submission to client o Sub-contract procurement including sending out enquiries, collating prices, negotiation, order placement o Sub-contract valuations and payments in connection with any contract. o Preparation of internal cost reporting measures. o Advice when required on cost management, or value management. o Maintaining quality control procedures. o Health & Safety management. o Undertaking all tasks in a timely fashion and as required by management. o Ensure cash flow is maximized
The successful candidate will ideally have a degree/HNC qualification (or equivalent) and have a variety of experience across different sectors.
You must be able to demonstrate a stable and progressive career history on your CV, and experience with a Main Contractor is essential.
The position is looking to start as soon as possible, with the salary on offer being up to £45k plus car allowance and other benefits.
