Medium sized contractor looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
Working on a variety of projects of refurbishments, new builds and fit outs - including education buildings, healthcare, heritage buildings, and commercial projects.
£40K-£50K plus package including car allowance.
Our client is a medium size contractor specialising in the public and private sector, focusing on education, healthcare and heritage projects across the Greater Manchester and Cheshire areas.
They are currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to work on a permanent basis, on a variety of upcoming projects. You will be responsible for 2-3 projects at one time (depending on value), which could be up to the value of approximately £4m.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Quantity Surveyor, your duties will include:-
Preparation of bills and/or schedules for quantities of materials, labour and services required in the construction and refurbishment of building works in relation to both Estimating and Post contract duties.
Preparation and valuation of progress and submission to client
Sub-contract procurement including sending out enquiries, collating prices, negotiation, order placement
Sub-contract valuations and payments in connection with any contract.
Preparation of internal cost reporting measures.
Advice when required on cost management, or value management.
Maintaining quality control procedures.
Health & Safety management.
Undertaking all tasks in a timely fashion and as required by management.
Ensure cash flow is maximized
The successful candidate will ideally have a degree/HNC qualification (or equivalent) and have a variety of experience across different sectors.
You must be able to demonstrate a stable and progressive career history on your CV, and experience with a Main Contractor is essential.
The position is looking to start as soon as possible, with the salary on offer of £40 - £50K (dependent on experience) plus package which includes car allowance, healthcare, pension and holidays.
