My Client is one of the UK's leading providers of planned and responsive maintenance services in the Social Housing sector, maintaining more than 500,000 properties Nationwide every year. Due to an internal reshuffle, my Client is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor based from the Wellingborough region.
The Role Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be required to provide effective cost management and cost control on their Planned Maintenance projects consisting of kitchen & bathroom replacements, cyclical redecorations, roofing works. Although the Client is flexible on time spent in the office or working from home, you will be required to visit other offices once a month in Lincoln, Peterborough & Wellingborough.
Duties & Responsibilities: Preparing detailed breakdown of costs for each stage of works Compiling sub-contract orders and their subsequent issuing to Contractors Carrying out cost and value reconciliation on all items Agree costings for any ad hoc works and submit cost proposals Overseeing spend on in-house and sub-contract labour and material procurement Preparing Cost Value Comparison (Profit & Loss) notes Attend specification meetings to confirm site specific specification requirements. Attend Client meetings. Place and issue sub-contract orders in accordance with Group Policy and Commercial Best Practice to budget within programme requirements. Attend and minute all sub-contract order adjudication meetings. Liaise with all Departments on sub-contractors' performance and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience: HND/HNC in Surveying or equivalent Must have experience of working on Planned Maintenance contracts at QS level.
