My client are a top 10 house builder providing new build housing in the North West region who have a requirement for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their regional offices based in Merseyside.
As a Quantity Surveyor you will be reporting to the Commercial Manager and will be a key member of the Commercial Team in delivering profitability for the region through contractor procurement, cost planning and control, and general commercial input through the private development process.
Duties and responsibilities:
" Identify new trade contractors " Meet and explain the Homes culture and 'all-risk' packaging " Obtain prices on standard house types on partnering agreement " Improve Relationships with existing Trade Contractors, resolve issues that may arise and communicate requirements " Tender for 'all-risk' Road, Sewers and Plot works and negotiate best value packages " Ensure completed Developments are adopted by statutory authorities " Procure work package for new sites " Create sub contract comparisons for sign off " Hold and lead pre start meetings with sub-contractors and issue arising minutes " Issue sub contract orders with associated PAVs and schedules " Placement of plant orders upon receipt of requisitions " Ensure timely delivery of technical and design information " Produce feasibilities for land negotiations " Update feasibilities throughout the planning process " Produce detailed cost plan for inclusion " Produce Site-start Budget and annual 'Bible' costs " Investigate commercial viability of all modern methods of construction " Cost-to-complete Reporting " Manage the implantation of new house types " Support and assist as necessary with the group drive for efficiency savings " Ensure trade specifications are current and comply with building regulations
Quantity Surveyor - Skills and experience required
The successful candidate will ideally hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification. It is also essential that you have previous experience working for a house builder on multiple housing developments from pre commencement stages through to final accounts on time and within budget.
" Ability to work remotely " First rate communication and influencing skills " Good at developing relationships " Flexible - able to work at all levels and at hands on level " Proven written communication skills " Excellent level of numeracy " Computer literate in MS Office " Previous experience of building relationships with clients/customers " IT skills including Microsoft packages (advanced knowledge)
In return for your skills the company offer a salary from £40,000 - £47,500 dependant on experience with a company car or car allowance and an extensive company benefits package including pension, healthcare, company bonus, 26 days holidays, etc
