Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Quantity Surveyor West Midlands ASAP 2 Month Contract Domestic New Build
My Client is one of UK's largest privately-owned contracting business, employing over 700 people. With extensive experience and knowledge in delivering new build, refurbishment and fit-out projects across a range of sectors including education, health, housing, commercial and retail, they have the capacity and capability to work on projects of any size and scale. As such, they are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor based in the West Midlands.
The Role Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the procurement, mobilisation and financial control of a domestic new build project in the West Midlands. The role will initially be office based, with subsequent site visits.
Duties to include but not limited to:
Maintain a record of current Build Cost/Rates and liaise with the Company Estimator to ensure all records are current.
Compile cost plan budgets for new developments with comparisons to the land purchase viabilities for variances
Prepare bill of quantities for materials, parts and labour.
Attend specification meetings to confirm site specific specification requirements from Sales and the latest applicable Build Regulations.
Attend the Site pre-start meeting to receive construction issue drawings and determine Build and Sales strategy.
Compile tender packages for all sub-contract trades and despatch in accordance with Commercial Best Practice Manual.
Attend and minute all sub-contract order adjudication meetings.
Liaise with Build Department on sub-contractors' performance and compliance with order conditions.
Skills & Requirements
You must have an HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying or equivalent or working towards.
You must have at least 1 years' experience of working with at QS level.
You must have previous experience of procurement and pricing/forecasting of materials/labour
The role is a temporary contract for 2 months
