My client is a multi-disciplined main contractor; working within sectors including Commercial, Food Service, Hospitality and Leisure, Public Sector and Retail. As a result of expansion and winning new projects, they are currently looking to recruit within their commercial team - Quantity Surveyor/Estimator with experience in the fit-out sector.
You will be working out of the West Midlands office but travelling ad hoc nationwide.
As Quantity Surveyor /Senior Estimator, you will be working closely with the commercial team and will be responsible for the following:
Preparing and processing quotations, bids and tenders as well as accurate pricing/quantities of materials, labour and services required for the fit-out in relation to both estimating and post-contract duties
Supporting the commercial team in analysing which opportunities to bid for
Collecting quotes for materials and sub-contractors
Liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities
Produce bills of quantities, schedule of work and contractor proposals
Preparation and valuation of progress and submission to client
To provide feedback on deviation from cost bill
Maintaining accurate company records
Assessing commercial and operational risks with tenders
Review unsuccessful bids and client feedback to improve accuracy for future bids
Prepare and accurately forecast final accounts
Managing day-to-day cost control, monitoring and reporting
Manage the costs on a project to ensure both the company and the client is fully advised of the cost situation
Negotiating and Pricing Target Costs for future contracts awarded through Frameworks agreements
This is an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator with experience working on a variety of projects in the fit-out sector.
The ideal candidate will have a track record in the following:
Shop fit experience
Able to build good working relationships with Subcontract trades
Ability to work within a team environment
A high degree of numerical ability
Effective communication and team working skills
A conscientious and a self-disciplined approach
Ability to effectively control cost and value
Competent working knowledge of Word, Outlook and excellent Excel skills
You must have a full driving licence, as travel will be required to sites nationwide.
The salary on offer is up to £45k + company package.
