The Client In your new job as a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be working for a multi-national main contractor who have been expanding for the past few years and have established themselves in the UK. Recently, they have opened a new office in Romford and are looking to add a Senior Quantity Surveyor to their Commercial team.
The organisation primarily undertakes commercial, industrial and retail / hotel builds, on a refurbishment and new build basis. With an annual turnover of circa £5m and projects with repeat clients, this contractor are building on a good reputation and looking to expand.
The Job: As Senior Quantity Surveyor with this organisation, you will be based between site and in their offices in Rainham where your responsibilities will include site meetings, preparation and submitting of tender documents as well overseeing general project process with the on-site management. You will oversee 2 Quantity Surveyors and work as a team on various projects to ensure they are completed to time and to budget. Liaising with the Senior Buyer and other construction professionals too will be required.
Responsibilities: - Prepare detailed breakdown of build costs for each stage of work across a diverse project based - Forecast, monitor and maintain cash flow to ensure it is maximised effectively. - Mentor, develop, train and support existing and new members to the team, both within the commercial department and the wider business. - Attend and host key meetings internally and externally, maintaining professional standards and promoting the company's standards and values always. - Be aware of, and take the lead on, contractual issues and ensure that delivery teams are always advised and aware of key requirements
Qualifications & Experience - Construction related Degree / equivalent, ideally Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management. - Previous experience within general commercial contracting is essential, previous experience within residential development is also desirable. - You'll ideally be situated locally to the area and understand the geographical industry
