The Client: A leading, national provider for Social Housing New Build & Generation schemes is looking to bring on an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to their south Essex team, to work on projects across London and Essex. Due to a growth in number of projects won, the client are looking to add a Senior QS to their commercial team. The role itself will be site based but will require the occasional day in the office when requested by the Commercial Manager, so please ensure you are happy with this requirement.
Duties & Responsibilities; Overall responsibility for the commercial delivery of the development Experience administering and providing advice on contracts Management of sub-contract packages Management of disputes ensuring records are kept up to date to support any claims Providing monthly cost reporting Creating and managing budgets whilst forecasting and minimising risks Liaising with the social housing association, local authority or developer to ensure timely completion of packages. Carry out cost and value reconciliation on all items Preparing detailed breakdown of build costs for each stage of work Compiling sub-contract orders, and their subsequent issuing to contractors Oversee spend on in-house labour allocation, and material procurement Prepare Cost Value Comparison (Profit & Loss) notes
Experience: A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management Proven Senior QS experience within a Social Housing / Regeneration background. Minimum 5 recent years. Proven history delivering large projects (Ideally from £15 million and up)
