A busy house builder are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with residential developer experience.
This company are a national house builder delivering new build properties to a wide range of customers varying from luxury family homes to townhouses, cottages and apartments located in new communities, urban, suburban or rural locations creating places of character and quality. Their homes are designed to work for the way people live today with materials and landscaping that reflect their commitment to quality, style and character.
This is an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor who is looking to move up to a senior position.
Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Role
Analyse tenders upon return to ensure compliant bids are received
Prepare detailed breakdown of build cost included within land acquisition pack
Ensure all health and safety information is signed off prior to placing Order
Compile sub-contract Order, issue for contractor to sign and ensure Order is returned prior to work commencing
Attend pre-start meeting, handover completed procurement pack to site team
Issue Customer Extras List at pre-start meeting
Ensure sub-contractor weekly and monthly applications for payment are analysed and checked
Prepare interim payments
Issue contra-charges as appropriate
Highlight claims for additional works outside Budget Estimate Summary
Settle all Final Accounts expediently after works complete
Carry out monthly progress checklist on site for all sites
Prepare sub-contract accruals
Produce Valuation Breakdown Reconciliation (VBR)
Carry out cost and value reconciliation on all items
Agree costs with the Accounts Department
Prepare Cost Value Comparison (Profit & Loss) notes
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will ideally hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification. It is also essential that you have previous experience working for a house builder on multiple housing developments from pre commencement stages through to final accounts on time and within budget.
Excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills
Flexible - ability to work at all levels and at hands on level
Proven written communication skills
Excellent level of numeracy
Computer Literate in MS Office
The company pay very competitively, with a basic salary of up to £60k and a benefits package which consists of company car or car allowance, holidays (+ statutory holidays), private healthcare, and pension.
