Bromak Recruitment have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor based in the North East. Enjoying a turnover in excess of £200m, they have a solid pipeline, are very profitable and have exciting growth plans for the future.
The role would suit someone perhaps with a couple of years of experience post qualification who is looking for career development in a fast paced environment.
The position requires an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to run a number of schemes, including new build social housing contracts from 10 to 100 circa units, new build extra care schemes, decent homes refurbishment contracts, bespoke refurbishment also mixed use developments.
Produce accurate information for Contribution forecasts and Monthly Cost/Value reports
Maximise profitability and cash benefit for the Company
Ensure Contract Valuations are prepared in accordance with Company policy
Control and administer all sub-contract accounts
Set and administer directly employed labour bonus targets
Liaise with Contracts Management on Cost control and all financial matters relating to the Contract
Ensure Architects instructions and variations are obtained and properly valued
Progress settlement of Final Accounts
Implement all QMS procedures
Develop and progress Company procedures and systems
Play an active part in contributing to the development of the Quantity Surveying department
The company are now securing more land lead opportunities and they seek a SQS to take commercial ownership of a number of existing contracts and also those that are in their earliest infancy.
You would be reporting into a Managing Surveyor and would potentially manage an Assistant QS/Graduate.
The salary package is negotiable depending on experience and the company also pay an attractive car allowance. The company pays 5% pension contributions, 27 days holiday plus bank holidays and there is also a discretionary bonus scheme in place.
What to do next:
To qualify for this position, it would be advantageous to have experience working on refurbishment and social housing schemes through frameworks agreements and partnering schemes, education and public buildings. You will be methodical, technically minded and an effective communicator with the ability to work in a team environment. Knowledge of NHS schedule of rates would be helpful.
