Our Client, a main contractor who work Nationally have got a new and exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to work on a large project in North London.
The Project The contract is a high-rise re-cladding project of occupied tower blocks
The Role The successful SHE Advisor will be responsible for setting up and helping to build all health & safety systems as well as managing the paperwork and permits. Reporting to a site-based health and safety manager the successful candidate will liaise with the site team and will be no. 2 on site for health & safety.
The Candidate " Review project SHE arrangements across the project on a regular basis as agreed with SHE Manager and complete detailed VMR, ensuring consistent application of SHE standards " Coach project leads on risk identification and mitigation " Lead investigations into incidents " Complete regular reviews of project RAMS and plans ensuring they are timely and fit for purpose " Promote the use of Airsweb in the recording of incidents, ensuring the timely close out of all recorded actions " Support local project teams in the development of project safety arrangements and collation of handover material " Work with the project team in leading SHE interventions at site level " Communicate learning and good practice from within and outside the business to project leaders " Ensure compliance to WPS
Qualifications & Experience " CMIOSH or equivalent (or working towards) " NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ level 4 or equivalent (or working towards) " Experience working for a top tier main contractor, ideally refurbishment projects " Knowledge of relevant safety legislation and codes of practice with the ability to implement and develop standard operating procedures " Possess strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders at various levels of the organisation " Good knowledge of construction technology, ideally in fire and cladding/ external envelope works " Working knowledge of high-rise projects
What to do next: This position is to start ASAP and is a fixed term 18-month contract, with the potential to go permanent depending on how the project develops.
