A young and dynamic contractor require an experienced Site Manager for a new build youth project in South East Manchester.
The company are a newly established contractor based in the North West, they deliver a mix of commercial, residential and leisure projects. The company are going from strength to strength with a number of projects in the pipeline due to start in the coming months across the North West.
Owing to the start of a new build development in Manchester they have a requirement for an experienced Site Manager.
The project is due to start later this year and will require the demolition of an existing property and the build of a new Youth Centre worth over £5M. The aim of the centre is to encourage the youth to have a place to go in an evening and will hopefully have a positive effect in cutting anti-social behaviour and other low-level crime in the area.
Site Manager Duties
Reporting to the Contracts Manager you will be responsible for managing the daily activities on the development. You will undertake the day to day management of construction activities to maximise the company's profitability and client satisfaction whilst ensuring programme, Health and Safety and Quality Control are upheld to the highest of standards at all times. Duties to include:-
Assisting the Contracts Manager with pre-start details;
Maintenance of company driven Health & Safety procedures / initiatives, including Use of PPE, Site Inductions, Management of Method Statements/Risk Assessments;
Scaffold/Lifting equipment inspections
In house audits / inspections
Adherence to the Company quality standards
Coordination / Leadership of the site team, inclusive of Assistant Site Managers, Administrators, Sub-Contractors and other Site Operatives
Liaison with the client, consultants, contract administrator, head office etc.
Management of site housekeeping and facilities, discipline, behaviour etc
To be aware at all times of possible commercial opportunities
Co-ordinate the Sub-Contractors as appropriate
Preparation of site progress reports
Material take offs and co-ordination
Attendance at project and company related meetings
Preparation of the Health and Safety file
Site Manager - Skills and experience required
Previous Site management experience with new build projects across commercial and residential properties is required to cover both this project and future company projects.
Up to date relevant knowledge of building legislation & Health and Safety legislation
CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid
The company are offering a salary of £43K - £48K (dependant on experience), car allowance, annual bonus, pension, BUPA and DIS.
