The Client Our client is a leading developer and housebuilder with an enviable reputation. With a proven business model which sees them taking land acquisitions and developing these into fantastic quality homes, they truly are a leader in their field which gives them the high status they hold in today's developer market. With this in mind, an excellent position has become available for an experienced and proven Technical Director to come on board and take control of the Technical team.
Responsibilities: - You'll have proven experience in implementing cost-controlling practices as well as ensuring that your team maximise revenue generation, contributing to the company's overall profit. - Ensuring that your team have all the direction and resources they need to carry out their job responsibilities to their fullest, as well as providing support to them in order that they can achieve set targets. This may involve giving direction, providing training & development, as well as allocating workloads effectively. - Whilst you'll be reporting to the Managing Director, as part of the Senior Management Team you'll need to engage with other management across the business to promote co-operative working when resolving any issues which may arise. - Responsibility for creating technical design solutions as well as providing solutions for any technical problems which may arise. - Ensuring processes and procedures are adhered to, as well as ensuring layouts technical reports and drawings are provided in agreed timeframes. - Reporting to the MD and board of Directors - You'll be the appointed Principal Design Manager under CDM regulations
Qualifications & Experience - The ideal candidate will have experience working for a similar sized company in a similar role in a Technical or Design capacity. - You should be an exceptional team-leader as well as have a passion for bringing out the best in others, in order that your team can achieve their full potential. - Degree qualified in a Construction, Engineering, Planning or Design related subject. - A thorough understanding of the Technical departments' involvement in site acquisitions and development. - Ability to identify any issues impacting on land valuations / development costs and ensuring "allowances" would be set.
