The Client Our Client is one of the country's largest and most respected house builders. They have been helping their customers to buy new homes across the North West, Midlands and South of England for over 60 years. Due to demand, they are looking to recruit a Technical Manager to work from their offices in Warwickshire.
The Role Reporting to the Technical Director and managing projects from inception to completion, you will be a lead member of the Technical Team. Your main aim will be to ensure that all developments are provided with public utilities diversions and supply proposals.
Duties: Provide technical support to the land/development team to assist during feasibility studies. Identify the need for external consultants (Planning, Architect, Engineers etc) agree fees, the scope of service, capability, timescales and deliverability and appoint consultants. Produce a detailed design programme which identifies key dates and a critical path. Manage all consultants to ensure the flow of information is within the agreed timescales and in accordance with the programme. Ensure all design information produced is issued to the relevant internal and external departments in accordance with, and on schedule with the programme. Be aware of and act upon commercial implications relating to planning & architectural design; civil & structural engineering design; geotechnical & ground remediation strategies; statutory services - new supplies & diversions. Commission of road & sewer design work and arranging tender Commission of ground investigation reports and ascertain foundation requirements Liaison with service companies and highway/water engineers Oversee and control planning applications to the Local Authority etc. Interact with statutory bodies, Local Authorities and external Consultants with regards to the satisfactory discharge of Planning Conditions within an agreed time frame. Control the submission of Building Regulations and warranty applications. Liaise with statutory undertakers to establish supply provision and diversion requirements Obtain competitive quotations for the works and negotiate best value for the company. Maintain procedures for drawing information release ensuring drawings are distributed Provide technical support and solutions through the construction stage on a regular basis.
Candidates must have: Previous experience as a Technical Manager within the House Building industry Degree in related Engineering subject Excellent communication & organisational skills Ability to work independently and resolve issues quickly
