Trainee / Assistant Quantity Surveyor
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Trainee / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a regional house builder based in Warrington.
The company are a regional developer specialising in new build private developments across the North West region, properties ranging from affordable homes to luxury family homes. Owing to planned expansion they have a requirement for a Trainee / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team.
The Role - Trainee / Assistant Quantity Surveyor
The principle purpose of the role is to assist the Quantity Surveying team to provide effective cost, by Management and cost control on projects, and to administer these in line with the applicable contract terms/statutory legislation. You will also acquire knowledge and skills in order to develop capability to become a Quantity Surveyor. The role will be varied and deadline driven, so excellent prioritisation and organisational skills are essential. It is essential that you are a confident communicator, proficient with Microsoft packages, with ideally experience in a similar role/environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
" Assist commercial management of projects to ensure they are completed within budget " Use systems and processes, allowing effective measurement of commercial performance " Assist in provide accurate, real time, monthly reports (Cost Value Reconciliations) and final outcome forecasts " Carrying out of tender analysis, sub-contractor procurement including management and payment of sub-contractor accounts " Attend and provide cost input at design team meetings and agree strategies to deliver the project " Learn to value engineer projects and suggest delivery solutions to ensure cost effective project delivery " Provide financial information to the team as required to assist in financial planning
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within the house building industry. You must have the ability of co-ordinating multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive on working to deadlines. You will also have excellent communication skills, proficient with IT and a high attention to detail, are qualities they will possess, in addition to being self-motivated, professional, positive and a team player.
